A Human space vessel approaches the nearest habital planet after a destructive fight against another alien race. Low on fuel and supplies they decide that landing on the nearest habital planet is the only choice, the planet isn't fully scanned but only the primary base system scan was performed in the space ship to determine if it was habital, had adaptable conditons and vegetation suitable for Human digestion.
Breaking through the atmosphere had caused some of the damaged panelling from their previous battle to break off and crash land them into the planet, striking what appears to be similair to a nuclear factory. Nuclear waves were sent across the planet, uneffeting the Humans and their ship but entirely effecting everything else. Their survival just became a greater task.
The radiation waves are slowly moving across the planet, gradually killing the population. Some areas more
greatly effected than others, the humans are able to live in the quaranteened areas as it doesn't effect them (this can be parts were they live), dirty behind deals with the alien race can be made as well (like weapons, food supplies etc).
I guess the base story line can be that humans crash land causing a nuclear type explosion from a factory, its waves sent across the planet destroying 44% of the planet (from ship scan). The Humans struggle to live, hiding in grotty areas, squatting in abondoned hosues and scrounging for food. The planet people think that the Humans purposely caused the explosion to destroy the planet. So the planet is against the Humans and the humans trying to convince them that it was an accident, whilst trying to live and escape.

Job/ Role: Got injured from the crash, a gash had appeared on his leg and disabling him to walk. He begins to feel ill with strange symptoms, possibly the waves infecting his body and beginning to effect him. He is a highly trained repair technician.
